About Us
Mental Health Nursing department is under experienced and dedicated faculty render quality education for the undergraduates & post graduate students to assist them in developing expertise and in depth understanding in the field of psychiatric nursing. Helped the students to render care to the client as a holistic individual and develop skills to function as an educator, manager and researcher in the field of psychiatric nursing.
Objective
- Comprehend and apply principles of psychiatric nursing in clinical practice.
- Develop skill in providing comprehensive care to various kinds of psychiatric patient.
- Develop understanding regarding psychiatric emergencies and crisis intervention.

‘‘Time to act on Dementia, Time to act on Alzheimer’s’’
On 24th September ,“World Alzheimer’s Day” was celebrated in VSPM MDINE Nagpur. The program was organized by Department of Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing Guided by Ms. Siddheshwari Barbatkar, HOD of Psychiatric Department, along with Ms. Liji Varghese, C.I/Tutor, Miss Aishwarya Dhote, C.I/Tutor with B.Sc Nursing V Semester B Batch at Jaitala UHTC.

Access to Service – MENTAL HEALTH IN CATASTROPHES AND EMERGENCIES
The VSPM Madhuribai Deshmukh Institute of Nursing Education, Nagpur, organised a Mental Health DayOn this occasion, Mental Health Nursing Department, VSPM MDINE organized a Photo Contest on live experiences throwing light on mental health supports or its absence during a crisis and importance of access to care, on 08/10/2025. Students from BSc –Semester I, III, PBBSc – I&II participated also GNM I presented a mind blowing skit a mind blowing skit embarking on the awareness.

World suicide prevention day 2025
World Suicide Prevention Day, a chance for organisations and communities around the world to come together to raise awareness and campaign for better suicide prevention.The theme for 2025 was “Changing the Narrative on Suicide.Goals of Suicide Prevention is to educate people about the warning signs of suicide and the steps they can take to intervene if someone is at risk.

World Autism Awareness Day 2026 is CELEBRATED on Thursday, April 2, 2026, to promote global understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of autistic individuals.
